Halal certification looks at two things: what goes into a formula, and how it's made. How to check any brand's halal claim

A genuine claim names its certifier. Look for the certification body (JAKIM, MUIS, or another recognised authority), not just the word "halal" on the front. JAKIM maintains a public verification portal, and Singapore's MUIS publishes its framework for recognising foreign halal certification bodies — so a real certificate is always checkable. If a brand can't tell you who certified it, that's your answer.

FAQ

Is vegan skincare automatically halal?

No. Vegan rules out animal-derived ingredients, which removes many haram concerns — but halal certification also covers alcohol content, cross-contamination and manufacturing controls that "vegan" alone doesn't verify.

Does halal skincare perform differently?
